Process: The decision to close schools during extreme weather is made as early as possible, often very early in the morning. The decision is based on the best weather information available and how that weather will affect students, staff, and parents during travel times. Canceling school because of inclement weather is the Superintendent's decision, and he communicates with his leadership team to make the best decision for our students. Factors considered include road conditions, air temperatures of negative 20 or lower, and wind chills of negative 20 to negative 30.
