• BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY

     

    The Freeport School District Board of Education is actively seeking applicants to fill a vacancy resulting from the resignation of Mr. Pete Norman. The board will immediately begin the process of filling the vacancy according to Board Policy 2:70. The individual selected will serve from the time of appointment until the seating of new board members following the April 2023 election. 

    Interested applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent, resume, and two letters of reference to Greta Harrell, Secretary to the Board of Education, by Friday, October 21, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. The letter and resume may be dropped off at the district office, located at 501 E. South Street, or emailed to Greta Harrell at greta.harrell@fsd145.org. 

    A candidate must meet the following qualifications: 

     

    • Be a United States citizen 

    • Be at least 18 years of age 

    • Be a resident of Illinois and the district for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment 

    • Be a registered voter 

    • Not be a child sex offender 

    • Not hold another incompatible public office 

    • Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district 

    • Not be a school trustee 

    • Not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment
