Biography

Mrs. Sago has served as principal of Lincoln-Douglas Elementary School since July 1, 2020.  She most recently served as Assistant Principal at Freeport Middle School. She has also taught at the elementary level in Freeport. She has both teaching and administrative experience in the Rockford Public School District.

Mrs. Sago holds a Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Education Administration and Curriculum and Instruction both from Northern Illinois University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Rockford College.

Work Information

Mrs. Sago is responsible for the general supervision and educational leadership of Lincoln-Douglas Elementary School.  This includes providing instructional leadership, managing and promoting the educational development of students, and following all policies and procedures set forth by the Freeport Board of Education and the Illinois State Board of Education.

Mrs. Sago feels that her most important job is to be a child advocate. She is looking forward to working with the staff, children, and families at Lincoln Douglas. “It takes a village to raise a child. My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy, and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began my career teaching with Freeport School District at Jones Farrar Early Learning Center.”

Mrs. Sago enjoys spending time with family, going on vacations, cooking, swimming, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She said her biggest achievement is not professionally, but personally. She is the wife of Anthony Sago and mother of three gorgeous children: Fahren, Farrah, and Ariyah.
